Jamie Chambers

Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200), Licensed Zumba Instructor
Jamie's journey into yoga began as a personal solution for relieving sciatic nerve pain. She found that, in addition to reducing her discomfort, practicing yoga brought other significant benefits to her overall well-being. Experiencing these benefits firsthand, along with her passion for helping others, inspired her to dive deeper into yoga and become a teacher. Jamie is a firm believer in making fitness fun and accessible. In addition to yoga, she is licensed to teach Zumba and believes that fitness should be available to everyone, regardless of experience or ability. She received her 200 hour yoga teacher training certificate from the Yoga Power School Class of 2024.
Off the mat, Jamie is a proud mom and grandma. She has worked for the State of West Virginia for over 20 years in the accounting and auditing fields. Jamie is also a member and volunteer with the Kanawha Valley Master Naturalist Program, where she enjoys sharing her love of nature with others. She stays active outdoors and loves spending time with friends, family and her dog. Other hobbies include hiking, kayaking, hunting, fishing, gardening, quilting, and crochet.

Yoga Hikes WV: Hike & Journaling
Journaling & Yoga Hike at Forks of Coal
Join Jamie Chambers (RYT 200) for an immersive journey that joins mindful movement with reflective writing. This experience weaves them together so you can connect with nature, your body and your thoughts all at once.
We’ll start with a gentle warm‑up near the trailhead to prepare your muscles and mind. Then we’ll set out on a hike through Forks of Coal Natural Area. At various scenic spots, Jamie will invite you to pause for short journaling exercises and standing yoga poses. These journal prompts are designed to help you observe your surroundings, track your bodily sensations, and explore your emotions.
The hiking portions between journaling stops provide cardio benefits and a chance to integrate what you’ve written, while the yoga poses add strength and balance. We’ll finish back at the trailhead with a final savasana and cool‑down, and participants can share reflections if they wish.
